CELTA stands for Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults and it provides practical, initial training in teaching English as a foreign language.
The CELTA qualification is awarded by Cambridge English, part of Cambridge University and is the most widely recognised TEFL qualification in the world.
CELTA is a rigorous teacher training programme taught by Cambridge approved tutors.
- It comprises a minimum of 120 hours, with 60 hours of tutoring and 60 hours of teaching practice.
- Assessment is done through assignments and teaching observations.
- Final certification is awarded following the visit of a Cambridge external assessor.
