Teacher Creation Course - Overview

This course addresses native and/or non-native speakers and is designed to equip adults with the essential knowledge and competences to become proficient ELT professionals. 

The online course is delivered by experienced trainers and tutors. It dives into the fundamentals of EFL methodology and explores various teaching approaches and techniques. As a student you will gain insights into language acquisition theories, develop a deep understanding of grammar and vocabulary teaching, and master strategies for effective class management and assessment.

1st year, 1st semester

This session makes an introduction to the TTC and provides a brief history of the English language from the 5th century AD to the present day.

This module describes and analyses the most well-known teaching methods and techniques that are used in ELT, and their differences.

This module focuses on 6 modern teaching approaches: CLIL; Flipped Learning; PBL & Collaborative Learning, VAK, Gamification, Crossover Learning.

This module equips EFL trainee teachers with the knowledge and skills to understand the psychological aspects of teaching, foster a positive learning environment, and promote effective communication, classroom management, learner autonomy, and inclusivity.

This module examines ways how to establish and maintain class management to the benefit of both learners and teachers.

This module focuses on the English language grammar, its applications in written and verbal communication, and how it can effectively be taught.

This module equips EFL trainee teachers with the skills and strategies to effectively teach reading skills at various CEFR levels, catering to the specific needs of learners from Pre-A1 to C2.

This module equips EFL trainee teachers with the skills and knowledge to effectively mark written assignments, providing constructive feedback and ensuring accurate assessment of learners’ written work.

This module focuses on microteaching as a tool for assessing EFL trainee teachers’ teaching skills and providing constructive feedback. It encompasses planning, implementation, and evaluation of microteaching sessions.

1st year, 2nd semester

This module provides EFL trainee teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively teach English to young learners (4-8 years old), focusing on engaging activities, creating a supportive learning environment, and utilising technology for vocabulary and grammar instruction.

This module provides EFL trainee teachers with a comprehensive introduction to phonics, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to effectively teach phonics to young learners. The module covers phonics basics, the role of phonics in reading and writing, and creating content for phonics practice.

This module delves into the world of English language development for YLE aged 4-8. It explores effective strategies and activities to enhance reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills through games and projects in a fun and engaging manner.

This module explores the concepts of learning styles and multiple intelligences, equipping EFL trainee teachers with the knowledge and skills to cater to the diverse learning preferences of their students.

This module delves into the various types of student assessment, equipping EFL trainee teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively evaluate their students’ progress.

This module focuses on microteaching as a tool for assessing EFL trainee teachers’ teaching skills and providing constructive feedback. It encompasses planning, implementation, and evaluation of microteaching sessions.

2nd year, 1st semester

This module analyses the importance of lesson planning to ensure effective lessons while following the curriculum, and successful learning outcomes for the students. 

This module presents the various class seating arrangements to align with the different goals and objectives of each lesson and focuses on the benefits of pair-work and group-work.

This module provides a comprehensive overview of effective teaching strategies and activities to develop vocabulary, grammar, reading, speaking, and writing skills in English language learners at CEFR A1/A2 levels.

This module delves into effective teaching strategies for developing reading, speaking, writing, and listening skills in learners at CEFR B1 level. It provides a comprehensive range of engaging activities, techniques, and approaches to enhance language acquisition and skill development.

This module equips EFL trainee teachers with the skills and strategies to effectively teach reading, speaking, and writing skills to learners at CEFR B2 level. It also covers techniques to prepare students for the Use of English section of FCE and other B2 exams.

This module equips EFL trainee teachers with the necessary digital literacy and basic digital skills to manage online instruction effectively. It covers essential topics such as digital literacy, technology applications, content creation, Moodle, gamification, and online safety.

This module focuses on microteaching as a tool for assessing EFL trainee teachers’ teaching skills and providing constructive feedback. It encompasses planning, implementation, and evaluation of microteaching sessions.

This module in environmental literacy in ELT aims to enhance EFL trainee teachers’ understanding of environmental concepts and issues, equip them with strategies to integrate environmental themes into their EFL teaching, and empower them to foster environmental awareness and responsibility among their students.

2nd year, 2nd semester

This module provides EFL trainee teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively teach reading, speaking, writing, and debate skills at CEFR C1 and C2 levels. The module covers a variety of techniques and strategies to improve learner proficiency in these areas.

This module focuses on microteaching as a tool for assessing EFL trainee teachers’ teaching skills and providing constructive feedback. It encompasses planning, implementation, and evaluation of microteaching sessions.

This module provides EFL trainee teachers with a comprehensive overview of learning challenges, their impact on language learning, and strategies for supporting students with learning difficulties in the EFL classroom.

This module focuses on differentiating instruction and creating inclusive learning environments for students with learning challenges in the EFL classroom.

This module focuses on the importance of individualised assessment for students with learning challenges and provides EFL trainee teachers with strategies to use a variety of assessment methods, such as formative and summative assessments, to evaluate student progress.

This module delves into the transformative role of technology in EFL instruction, exploring various tools and techniques to enhance language learning experiences. 

This module equips EFL trainee teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively design, implement, and manage virtual EFL instruction, fostering active learning, engagement, and assessment in the virtual learning environment.

This module focuses on the challenges and opportunities of teaching adult professionals, providing EFL trainee teachers with the knowledge and skills to design effective instruction that meets the specific needs and lifestyle of this target group. 

This module delves into the principles and practices of teaching EFL in multicultural classrooms, equipping EFL trainee teachers with the knowledge and skills to create inclusive and engaging learning environments for diverse learners.
